Business Development Manager – Utilities

About the role

Join Aggreko in Eastern Creek, Sydney as a Business Development Manager – Utilities, driving growth across Australia’s utility, energy and infrastructure markets. You will identify, develop and convert strategic opportunities in power generation, renewable energy, BESS, microgrids, grid support, water infrastructure and Energy‑as‑a‑Service solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic growth plans for the Utilities sector.
• Identify and secure new opportunities across power generation, renewable energy, BESS, microgrids and grid support applications.
• Build strong relationships with utility, energy, water and infrastructure customers.
• Manage a robust sales pipeline to achieve revenue and margin targets.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, estimating and proposal teams to deliver customer‑focused solutions.
• Monitor market developments, regulatory changes and energy transition trends to identify new opportunities.
• Represent Aggreko at customer meetings, industry forums and conferences.

Required profile

• 10+ years’ experience in utilities, energy, power generation, infrastructure or related industries.
• Strong understanding of the National Electricity Market (NEM) and transmission/distribution networks.
• Demonstrated success in business development and strategic sales.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Commercially astute with ability to manage complex opportunities and long sales cycles.
• Willingness to travel throughout Australia as required.
