Business Development Manager – Group Travel

About the role

The Business Development Manager (Groups Travel) will hunt new business for FCM Meetings & Events, focusing on group travel, incentive trips and large‑scale movements. Based in Brisbane, you will convert inbound leads and target accounts into profitable contracts while ensuring smooth hand‑overs to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and convert group travel opportunities through market insight, lead generation and strong client relationships.
• Own the sale and pricing process, from group air quoting and supplier contract negotiation to final hand‑over.
• Prepare detailed budgets, quotes and presentations that reflect brand standards and the Customer Value Proposition.
• Maintain regular client engagement to foster loyalty and uncover upsell opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and leverage FCTG networks to generate cross‑sell leads.
• Represent FCM at industry events, trade shows and client meetings to raise brand visibility.

Required profile

• Proven sales experience in a similar role, preferably with group travel or MICE background.
• Consultative selling and negotiation skills with confidence engaging senior and procurement stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of group air quoting, supplier contracts and margin management.
