Associate / Senior Architect (Registered)

About the role

Gray Puksand, an Australian architecture and integrated design practice with studios in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra, is looking for an Associate or Senior Project Architect (Registered) to lead its Canberra studio. The role leads delivery of significant projects across Commercial, Education and Health + Science sectors, taking them from concept through to completion, leading teams, managing client relationships and coordinating consultants. It suits an experienced architect and leader who also mentors junior architects and designers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery and management of projects from concept design through to contract administration
• Provide leadership and strategic direction to project teams and manage day-to-day operations, updating Partners when required
• Oversee project documentation and review drawings in Revit, including mentoring team members
• Mentor, coach and develop junior team members across design, documentation, project delivery and professional development
• Build relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders
• Contribute to business development and the growth of the practice

Required profile

• 10+ years' architectural experience on medium to large-scale projects in Commercial, Education and/or Health and Science sectors
• Registered in the ACT
• Proven experience leading projects from briefing through to handover
• Leadership experience managing teams, clients and consultants in complex environments
• Strong client relationship management, communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a national team

Required skills

• Demonstrated expertise in Revit
• Strong technical and construction knowledge
• Understanding of documentation processes, deliverables and project timelines
