Associate Professor in Accounting – Teaching & Research

About the role

Curtin’s School of Accounting, Economics and Finance is seeking an Associate Professor in Accounting (ALD) to lead teaching and research on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role involves delivering innovative accounting courses, advancing a strong research agenda, and contributing to a research‑informed learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership in the accounting discipline and deliver high‑quality, innovative teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Conduct internationally competitive research, publish in high‑quality refereed journals, and secure competitive research and industry grants.
• Mentor colleagues and early‑career researchers, supervise higher‑degree research students, and lead or co‑lead research projects.
• Engage with industry stakeholders, contribute to external activities relevant to the accounting profession, and promote community engagement.

Required profile

• Doctoral qualification in Accounting.
• Demonstrated record of academic leadership at national or international level.
• Significant research output with publications in high‑quality refereed journals and a record of obtaining external research income.
• Experience supervising higher‑degree research students and mentoring early‑career researchers.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and development of high‑quality educational courses.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with cross‑cultural sensitivity.
