Associate Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

Join Aurecon’s Ground & Underground Engineering Practice in Sydney as an Associate Geotechnical Engineer. You will lead geotechnical services on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, from feasibility through construction, while mentoring junior engineers and geologists.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of geotechnical investigations and design packages across medium to large‑scale projects.
• Manage scope, programme, budget, resourcing, risk and quality for geotechnical studies.
• Provide technical leadership on complex problems using advanced analysis tools such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio and Rocscience.
• Develop and review proposals, tenders and commercial inputs.
• Build strong client relationships and support business development activities.

Required profile

• 15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• CPEng registration and relevant professional accreditation.
• Proven experience leading and reviewing complex geotechnical designs and investigations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and deliver commercial outcomes.
• Leadership experience mentoring engineers and geologists.
