Associate – External Relationship Management, Alternatives Team (ANZ)

About the role

The BlackRock Private Market Capital Formation Team is seeking an Associate to support external relationship management for its Alternatives Specialists Team across Australia and New Zealand. Based in Sydney, you will help deliver BlackRock’s private‑markets capabilities—including infrastructure, real estate, private credit and private equity—to institutional investors such as superannuation funds, insurers and sovereign wealth funds.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Client Business teams, Portfolio Managers and Product Strategists to develop and execute client‑focused strategies across ANZ.
• Build and maintain strong internal relationships with Capital Formation, Client Business and Investment teams.
• Develop and deepen external relationships with superannuation funds, insurers and sovereign wealth funds.
• Contribute to product development initiatives and competitor analysis, assessing market demand for new strategies.
• Support participation in strategically important and commercially viable RFP processes.
• Develop client materials such as pitchbooks, strategy papers, marketing collateral and new product documentation.
• Manage pipeline activity in coordination with Client Business teams.
• Identify capital‑raising opportunities across private‑markets strategies.
• Support co‑investment fundraising and assist in structuring bespoke client solutions.
• Contribute to the development of strategy narratives and support new fund launches.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in a sales‑driven organization with strong knowledge of the ANZ institutional investor landscape.
• Broad understanding of private‑market asset classes – infrastructure, real estate, private credit and private equity – and their investment characteristics.
• Awareness of key themes shaping the ANZ private‑markets ecosystem, including regulatory considerations, market trends and benchmarking/fee frameworks.
