Associate Director - Research & Analysis

About the role

The Associate Director – Research & Analysis will support ANZ Institutional Banking’s growth by delivering deep client and industry insights, high‑quality credit analysis and risk assessment. Working closely with Relationship Managers, Product Partners and Risk teams, you will help structure complex transactions and provide tailored solutions while safeguarding the bank’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor a portfolio of corporate clients, assessing credit risk and performance.
• Conduct detailed industry research and financial analysis to inform lending decisions.
• Structure, negotiate and execute complex transactions in collaboration with product and risk partners.
• Exercise delegated Credit Approval Authority (CAD) and ensure compliance with ANZ policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and address high‑risk or deteriorating accounts proactively.
• Mentor and potentially manage junior analysts and associates.

Required profile

• Significant experience in corporate banking, credit analysis or institutional finance.
• Proven ability to evaluate credit risk, develop mitigation strategies and make sound lending decisions.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving profitable growth.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills across senior business partners.
