Assistant Store Manager - Telstra Gladstone

About the role

Telstra is hiring a full-time Assistant Store Manager for its Gladstone store. The role supports store operations by assisting with team coordination and maintaining service standards, handling moderately complex tasks and working independently on defined responsibilities. It involves coaching the retail team to meet and exceed store targets, alongside the Store Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the induction of new team members.
• Coach the store team to meet (and exceed) store targets.
• Help support the team with customer query escalations.
• Act as the Store Manager's right-hand person and step in as Store Manager when needed.
• Execute business initiatives in store to meet financial and customer key metrics.
• Motivate the team, foster a positive store culture and organise the store floor and team schedules to meet customer demand.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a retail leadership or assistant management role.
• Proven ability to drive a retail team to exceed sales targets and KPIs.
• Able to resolve customer issues creatively and communicate well, supporting the Store Manager through change.
