Assistant Night Manager

About the role

The Assistant Night Manager leads the overnight operation at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, ensuring a safe, secure and seamless experience for guests. You will supervise the Night Auditor and front‑office team, manage financial controls and act as the senior voice when the Night Manager is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Run a safe, secure and seamless overnight operation across Front Office, lobby, portering and in‑room dining.
• Complete and oversee the night audit in Opera PMS, balancing cash, credit and high‑balance accounts.
• Handle over‑bookings, security incidents, intoxicated guests and complaints with sound judgement and empathy.
• Maintain a visible lobby presence, greet guests and inspect public and back‑of‑house areas.
• Brief, coach and train night team members and deliver a clear handover to day management.

Required profile

• Front Office or Night Audit experience in a hotel, ideally luxury.
• Confident knowledge of night audit, cash handling, credit control and banking.
• Proficiency in Opera PMS or a similar property management system.
• Experience leading a team overnight with limited senior support.
• Calm, professional approach to complaints and security incidents.
• Current NSW RSA and First Aid certificate.
• Excellent written and spoken English; a second language is an advantage.
