Assistant Manager – Technical Accounting Advisory

About the role

KPMG’s Mid‑Market & Private Accounting & Reporting Centre (MARC) is seeking an Assistant Manager to provide technical accounting advice to a diverse client base across Australia and the South Pacific. The role is national, offering exposure to complex transactions and financial reporting challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply AASB and IFRS standards for a range of organisations.
• Support complex transactions such as acquisitions, restructures and share‑based payments.
• Develop accounting policies and manuals tailored to client needs.
• Lead bi‑annual financial reporting update sessions for clients.
• Oversee compilation of complex financial statements and provide advisory support.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of technical accounting advisory experience, preferably in a Big‑4 firm.
• CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with a commercial mindset.
• Entrepreneurial drive and interest in team growth.
