Assistant Manager – Agribusiness Banking

About the role

Working alongside a supportive Relationship Manager, the Assistant Manager will manage a portfolio of agribusiness customers, developing specialist industry expertise while driving growth through acquisition, share‑of‑wallet expansion and referrals. The role leverages new systems and technologies to anticipate customer needs and deliver tailored banking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively develop and maintain a detailed understanding of each customer’s business and financial requirements.
• Apply a customer‑centric approach to recommend suitable products and services.
• Provide appropriate solutions for account maintenance and ongoing customer needs.
• Maintain a well‑managed, compliant portfolio in line with all relevant policies and procedures.
• Control workflows across compliance and customer fulfilment processes.
• Collaborate with product partners and other stakeholders to meet customer requirements.

Required profile

• Prior experience in commercial banking frontline roles and commercial lending.
• Ability to manage strong customer relationships, handling service queries and resolving minor issues.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail when reviewing agreements and contracts.
• Capability to assess creditworthiness using both qualitative and quantitative factors (the 5Cs of credit).
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate customer documentation.
