Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

The Assistant Financial Controller will support the Director of Finance in overseeing the finance function for the three hotel brands operating at the Darwin Airport Resort. This position blends hands‑on financial tasks with stakeholder collaboration across a multi‑site hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Finance in leading, training and mentoring the finance team.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports in line with Accor standards, including market segment analysis and operating statements.
• Work with department heads to identify cost‑saving opportunities and improve profitability.
• Manage credit approvals, monitor debtor balances and pursue collections.
• Oversee payroll processes and enforce cash‑handling policies.
• Maintain balanced ledgers and perform monthly reconciliations for all balance‑sheet accounts.
• Control daily and monthly cash flow, ensuring timely owner payments per management agreements.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, gathering input from all department managers.
• Support year‑end account preparation and coordinate audit activities.
• Implement Accor policies and internal controls throughout the finance function.

Required profile

• Proven finance experience in hotels, hospitality or a comparable multi‑site environment.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, payroll and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across departments and brands.
• Experience in guiding, training or mentoring finance team members.
• High attention to detail and personal integrity.
