Assistant Accountant – Entry Level

About the role

Join Wabtec as an Assistant Accountant supporting the Finance Manager across Austbreck Pty Ltd and RMS Pty Ltd. This entry‑level, permanent full‑time role offers a hybrid work model with home days on Monday and Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with day‑to‑day accounting tasks, journal entries, ledger reconciliations and fixed‑asset management.
• Support monthly and quarterly reporting, budgeting, forecasting and project accounting using Sage, M1 and OneStream.
• Help prepare BAS, GST and PAYG reconciliations and provide audit and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with Shared Services (HR, Payroll, IT, AP/AR) to resolve finance‑related queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Currently pursuing or intending to commence CPA/CA qualification.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and attention to detail.
• Eligibility to work in Australia without visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Interest in learning Sage, M1 and OneStream ERP systems (training provided).
