Assistant Accountant – AI & Finance Automation

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to support daily finance operations, reporting and process improvement within our hospitality group. The role focuses on leveraging AI tools, Python and automation to streamline accounting tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier invoices, payments and reconciliations.
• Perform bank and cash reconciliations.
• Support payroll, superannuation and employee records.
• Assist with month‑end, year‑end and BAS preparation.
• Prepare financial and management reports.
• Bookkeep using Xero and MYOB, including general ledger and journal entries.
• Identify repetitive accounting tasks and automate them with AI tools, Python, Excel or Power Query.
• Contribute to finance system integration and document process improvements.

Required profile

• Fluent in Chinese and English.
• Accounting, finance or related qualification preferred.
• Basic accounting knowledge or relevant experience.
• Experience with Xero or MYOB preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and ability to work independently.
• Interest in AI tools and accounting automation.
• Australian accounting or bookkeeping experience is an advantage.
