About the role

A centrally located Department is looking for an APS 6 Communications Officer. The team is described as having a supportive workplace culture, close-knit collaboration and strong relationships, with opportunities for professional growth. The position is open to candidates already based locally; interstate applicants cannot be considered.

Key responsibilities

Plan and deliver communication and consultation activities that support organisational priorities
Create, edit and publish content across websites, email, social media, staff and executive channels
Give expert communications advice and keep messaging clear, accurate and consistent
Support change and consultation activities, including surveys and targeted stakeholder engagement
Build relationships with internal stakeholders, subject-matter experts and external partners
Monitor communications, identify improvements and manage communication and reputational risks

Required profile

Experience in a similar role
Proactive, flexible and can-do attitude
Team player who works well in a collaborative environment
