Apprentice Welders & 2nd Class Welders

About the role

Telwater, Australia's largest manufacturer of trailered boats, is hiring full-time permanent welders for its Coomera site. The role suits people part way through an apprenticeship, those who have completed a Certificate II Engineering pathway and want an apprenticeship, or experienced welders wanting to earn their trade certificate. It is a physically demanding job, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Learn to fabricate and build aluminium boats
• Maintain allocated build timeframes to keep production flowing smoothly
• Produce neat, quality welds every day
• Use power tools, pneumatic tools, band saws, hand tools and welders

Required profile

• Ability to learn how to fabricate and build aluminium boats
• Completed Certificate II Engineering or Engineering pathways course highly desirable
• Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test

Required skills

• MIG and/or TIG welding skills highly desirable
• Use of power tools, pneumatic tools, band saws, hand tools and welders
