Applications Engineer (Technical Sales Support)

About the role

A Brisbane manufacturer that produces its own graphene and supplies it in products ranging from HVAC coatings to lubricant additives is looking for an Applications Engineer (Technical Sales Support). The role sits between sales, customers and the company's product development, quality and production specialists, answering technical questions from the sales team and validating every answer before it reaches the customer.

Key responsibilities

• Build a thorough understanding of the product range, including performance, applications and limitations
• Advise on product suitability and application variables such as environmental conditions, humidity and pH
• Join customer calls and presentations where technical input is needed
• Own each enquiry through to resolution, working with product development, quality and production
• Develop FAQs, application guides and testing checklists for the sales team
• Check and improve the answers produced by the company's internal AI knowledge assistant

Required profile

• Experience in applications engineering, technical sales support, product support or a similar technical, customer-facing role
• Background in coatings, lubricants, chemicals, materials or thermal management; graphene experience is not required
• Ability to explain technical detail clearly to engineers and non-technical buyers
• Willingness to say "I'll find out" and then follow it through
