Accounts Receivable Officer

About the role

Mars Recruitment is recruiting an Accounts Receivable Officer for a busy finance team within a national construction business. The role suits someone who enjoys working through account queries, keeping reconciliations in order and following up on payments. It is a hands-on finance position based in Canning Vale, Perth, with immediate interview and start.

Key responsibilities

• Process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Allocate and reconcile customer payments against outstanding invoices.
• Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up overdue payments.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and account queries.
• Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
• Respond to customer and internal stakeholder queries professionally.
• Maintain accurate records of collections activity and outstanding balances.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and support automation initiatives.
• Manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines and performance targets.

Required profile

• Experience in accounts receivable or a similar finance role, able to manage transactional workloads accurately and efficiently.
• Experience in customer invoicing, payment allocations, reconciliations and debt collection.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and clear communication.
• Proactive approach to investigating discrepancies and resolving account queries.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic understanding of GST and relevant tax requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting systems such as MYOB or Xero.
• Sound Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

What we offer

• Salary of AU$80,000 to AU$85,000 per annum plus superannuation.
• Full-time position.
