Accountant – Funds Finance (Sydney)

About the role

ESR Group is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join its Sydney Funds Finance team. The role focuses on monthly and year‑end financial accounting, management reporting, and tax compliance for a portfolio of stabilised and development funds.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and year‑end financial and management reports for stabilised and development funds.
• Review fund‑level profit & loss statements, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and journal entries, including IFRS/AASB16 and loan‑related entries.
• Support tax compliance activities such as BAS, income‑tax returns, and distribution calculations.
• Maintain accurate financial records through bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations, payment reviews, and stakeholder coordination.
• Assist with audits, loan‑covenant reporting, process improvements, and ad‑hoc fund finance tasks.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance with CA/CPA (or near completion).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Professional communication skills and collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel capability.
• Knowledge of IFRS/AASB16 accounting standards.
