Account Manager Microbiology – Victoria/Tasmania

About the role

Join Oxoid Remel Microbiology as an Account Manager covering Victoria and Tasmania. You will drive sales of our microbiology portfolio, support customers in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and research sectors, and contribute to the company’s growth in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets while aligning with margin objectives.
• Develop and maintain strategic territory and account plans, expanding existing business and identifying new market segments.
• Promote a range of microbiology products including prepared media, dehydrated media, pathogen detection kits, PCR instrumentation and AST solutions.
• Conduct product demonstrations, seminars and training sessions for customers.
• Gather market intelligence, report competitor activity and provide feedback to product management.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, forecast sales and ensure compliance with EHS policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related discipline (essential); postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
• 2–5 years of experience in microbiology sales, product support or laboratory‑based microbiology.
• Proven sales success in life‑sciences or microbiology markets.
• Strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel 25–30% of the time.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of PCR instrumentation and AST products.
• Familiarity with prepared and dehydrated media, pathogen detection kits.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
