Academic Registrar and Senior Director Academic Services

About the role

The Academic Registrar and Senior Director Academic Services is the senior leader responsible for the university's academic services ecosystem. This permanent, full‑time position is based at the Surry Hills campus in Sydney and provides strategic direction, governance and operational oversight across the student lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Academic Services by setting strategic priorities, service standards and performance expectations across three portfolio areas.
• Oversee academic governance, policy compliance, quality processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide senior oversight of complaints, appeals, procedural fairness and student wellbeing and safety risks.
• Ensure the accuracy, security and integrity of student outcomes, academic records, results, completions and graduation processes.
• Drive integrated academic planning, timetabling and delivery readiness using demand, capacity and workforce data.
• Improve systems, data quality, automation, controls and vendor delivery across Academic Services.

Required profile

• Senior leader with extensive higher‑education, VET or dual‑sector experience in academic services, registry, governance, planning and operations.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders, manage high‑performing teams and lead organisational change.
• Strong knowledge of Australian tertiary regulatory environment (HESF, TEQSA, ASQA, ESOS, CRICOS, privacy and data requirements).
• Relevant postgraduate or professional qualification in education, higher education, business, governance, public administration, law or related discipline.
