Welder – Shutdown & Maintenance Projects

About the role

EnerMech is seeking experienced welders for upcoming shutdown and maintenance projects in the Gladstone region. The role involves supporting site teams with welding, fabrication, repair and maintenance activities across heavy‑industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out welding, fabrication, repair and maintenance tasks on site‑based work fronts.
• Support shutdowns, planned maintenance, breakdowns and project scopes across industrial sites.
• Complete structural, plate, pipework and general fabrication welding jobs using a range of processes.
• Read and interpret drawings, weld procedures, work packs and technical documentation.
• Work safely in line with permits, risk assessments, job plans and site requirements.

Required profile

• Australian recognised trade qualification in Engineering – Fabrication, Welding, Boilermaking or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience as a welder on shutdowns, maintenance turnarounds, breakdowns or project work.
• Experience in LNG, oil & gas, mining, power generation, alumina, refinery or similar heavy‑industrial settings.
• Current driver’s licence and relevant site inductions (White Card, working at heights, confined space, etc.).
