Weekend Veterinary Associate

About the role

Greencross South Tamworth is looking for a confident veterinarian to take sole charge of weekend and on‑call emergency work. You will lead a dynamic caseload, supported by an experienced nurse, and receive 50% of professional fees for out‑of‑hours emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage weekend emergency cases including ear infections, lacerations, dog attacks, poisonings, snake bites, and car accidents.
• Provide independent clinical decision‑making and treatment in a sole‑charge capacity.
• Collaborate with specialist vets in anaesthesia, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, internal medicine, surgery and pocket‑pet care.

Required profile

• Minimum five years post‑graduate veterinary experience.
• Eligible for registration with the Veterinary Board.
• Strong clinical judgement and ability to work autonomously.

Required skills

• Emergency veterinary medicine.
• Use of advanced imaging equipment such as CT and fluoroscopy.
