Volunteer Social Visitor - Residential Aged Care

About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for volunteers to be social visitors at its Hammondville residential aged care home in South West Sydney. The volunteer program lets you share your interests with older people living in the home, helping them feel less isolated and improving their quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for residents of the residential care home.
• Spend time engaging with residents one-on-one or in small groups.
• Share whatever you enjoy, from sport, art, pets and gardening to walking, yoga, baking, crafts, movies, music, coffee and crosswords.

Required profile

• Be 18 years or older.
• Have an NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
• Available to visit between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, for a few hours; visits can be weekly or fortnightly depending on availability.
