Veterinary Nurse – Brisbane West Locum

About the role

Greencross is seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse to work as a casual locum across the Brisbane West region. You will step into multiple clinics, provide immediate nursing support, and help teams during periods of leave, high demand, or staffing gaps.

Key responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with consultations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Prepare patients for surgery, monitor anaesthesia, and support post‑operative recovery.
• Administer medications, collect samples, perform diagnostic testing, and provide hospital care.
• Handle emergency and urgent cases, maintain patient records, and deliver client education.
• Support reception and administrative duties as needed and uphold hygiene and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent) with 2–3+ years of clinical experience.
• Confident across medical, surgical, and hospital nursing tasks.
• Ability to work independently, adapt quickly to new clinic environments, and travel between locations.
• Current driver’s licence, reliable transport, and excellent communication skills.
