Unity / VR Developer

About the role

An innovative team delivering next-generation immersive experiences is looking for a Unity / VR Developer to join in Melbourne CBD. The role focuses on designing, developing and enhancing Virtual Reality applications using Unity, working across a range of projects that push the boundaries of interactive technology. The salary is negotiable.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain VR applications using Unity
• Design, build and optimise interactive experiences for VR headsets and immersive environments
• Implement gameplay mechanics, user interactions and immersive features
• Troubleshoot, debug and improve application performance
• Collaborate with designers, subject matter experts and technical stakeholders to turn requirements into technical solutions
• Contribute to architecture, design decisions and best practices
• Take part in testing, deployment and ongoing support

Required profile

• Proven commercial experience developing applications in Unity
• Experience building applications for VR platforms
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Desirable: experience with Meta Quest, HTC Vive or other VR platforms, and knowledge of XR, AR or mixed reality
• Desirable: exposure to 3D modelling pipelines, multiplayer or simulation applications, and Agile delivery

Required skills

• Strong C# development skills
• Understanding of 3D graphics, physics, optimisation and performance tuning
• Ability to integrate APIs, SDKs and third-party tools
