Underground Service Technician – Mining

About the role

The Underground Service Technician supports safe and efficient underground mining operations at Evolution Mining’s Ernest Henry site. Reporting to the Operations Team, you will install, maintain and repair underground services, contribute to ground support, and help prepare production areas for mining activities.

Key responsibilities

• Install and repair underground services on development headings.
• Set up and maintain ventilation systems, including building vent walls.
• Tension cables to support ground control and structural safety.
• Prepare production drill‑hole sites for mining operations.
• Operate portable agitators as required.
• Spray shotcrete to provide effective ground support.
• Identify and report hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain safe work practices in line with site procedures and standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an underground mining environment (preferred).
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to identify, report and manage hazards.
• Physical fitness for demanding underground tasks.
• Current C‑class driver’s licence.
• Positive, safety‑focused attitude and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Good communication skills and awareness of underground hazards.
