Underground Operator (Coal)

About the role

Sandvik Ground Support is seeking safety‑focused Underground Operators to join its Ground Consolidation team in Queensland. Working on a 7‑days‑on / 7‑days‑off roster, you will deliver a range of ground support services at customer mine sites.

Key responsibilities

• Operate underground mining equipment and mobile plant, including bolters, shuttle cars, loaders and QDS implements.
• Load, unload and transport materials safely and efficiently.
• Install standing support structures, ventilation devices and apply chemical injection products.
• Perform roof and rib bolting, pump operation and roadway maintenance.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑operational equipment inspections and complete safety documentation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in underground mining with a valid underground mining licence.
• Strong knowledge of underground safety procedures, mine navigation and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to work safely in confined, dark and physically demanding environments.
• Willingness to obtain competency on equipment such as bolters, shuttle cars, loaders, drift runners and QDS implements.
