Transportation Specialist – Transportation Operations Management

About the role

Amazon is seeking a motivated Transportation Specialist to join its Transportation Operations Management (TOM) team in Horsley Park. You will play a key part in ensuring safe, efficient freight movement across the yard and network, supporting both day and night shift operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee trailer moves, dock procedures, and yard traffic flow.
• Conduct yard audits, inductions, and ensure load quality using internal tools.
• Manage Trailer Dock and Release (TDR) operations, including safety equipment compliance.
• Support driver training programs such as Hostler and CDL School.
• Analyse performance dashboards (OTA, OTD, DPMO, LQ360, carrier data) to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Monitor on‑time loading performance and communicate delays with outbound dock teams and the Network Operations Center.
• Coordinate with carriers on site escalations, weather disruptions, and pickup/delivery issues.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reports by consolidating data from multiple sources.

• Flexibility to work across day and night shifts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with LQ360, SSP, FMC and YMS internal systems.
• Ability to analyse performance metrics and dashboards.
• Experience in yard operations and trailer dock management.
