Transport Designer/Drafter

About the role

Mott MacDonald’s Roads & Highways team in Queensland is seeking an experienced Transport Designer/Drafter to support state‑significant road and highway projects. You will work on technically complex designs, collaborating with a national transport team to deliver high‑quality infrastructure that shapes daily life.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality road and highway design drawings and 3D models for Transport and Main Roads (TMR) projects.
• Support concept, preliminary and detailed design stages in line with TMR standards, manuals and specifications.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, corridors, cross‑sections and earthworks models.
• Prepare design documentation using 12D and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate closely with multi‑discipline engineers, project managers and other stakeholders.
• Participate in design reviews, respond to comments and contribute to constructible outcomes.
• Promote continuous improvement in safety, quality and commercial performance.

Required profile

• Technically strong designer/drafter with proven experience on Queensland TMR projects.
• Demonstrated ability to work across multiple project stages and manage competing priorities.
• Practical, delivery‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
