Training Facilitator – Employability Skills Training

About the role

The Training Facilitator – Employability Skills Training will deliver, facilitate and assess training programmes that help participants become more competitive in the local labour market. Based in Hobart, you will work within APM’s national Employment Services network, supporting a diverse range of job seekers.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging, tailored sessions on employability, job readiness and foundational skills.
• Adapt content for youth, mature‑age seekers, culturally diverse groups and those facing employment barriers.
• Provide one‑on‑one coaching to build confidence, set career goals and overcome obstacles.
• Design and modify training materials to reflect industry trends and employer expectations.
• Incorporate real‑world scenarios and employer feedback to ensure practical relevance.
• Monitor learner progress through assessments, feedback and reporting.

Required profile

• Experience as a career counsellor or career development trainer.
• Ability to use specialised career assessment tools and create individual pathway plans.
• Proven track record supporting individuals to secure employment.
• Strong relationship‑building and networking skills.
• Commitment to delivering first‑class customer service in a collaborative environment.

Required skills

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or in progress) is desirable.
