Instructional System Designer

About the role

As an Instructional Systems Designer at CAE, you will create high‑impact training solutions for Defence and Security customers in Australia and worldwide. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, multimedia specialists, and software developers to produce engaging learning content that supports critical defence capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate training development activities across multiple projects.
• Review and quality‑assure training content to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Work closely with subject matter experts and development teams to create engaging learning solutions.
• Monitor project schedules, manage priorities, and identify risks to delivery.
• Provide project progress updates and reporting to key stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of instructional design, writing, and media standards.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122) or an undergraduate qualification in Education, Adult Learning, Instructional Design, or related field.
• Experience in instructional design, eLearning, or computer‑based training development.
• Strong written communication, technical writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Defence Security Clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) and eLearning authoring tools.
