Tourism Coordinator

About the role

The Tourism Coordinator will lead the Visitor Information Centre, manage a team of volunteers and drive destination marketing for Nambucca Valley. This role blends hands‑on service delivery with strategic promotion to enhance the visitor experience and support sustainable growth of the local tourism economy.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Visitor Information Centre and supervise volunteers.
• Develop and execute destination marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels.
• Create content, maintain the website and produce graphic assets to promote the region.
• Collaborate with internal teams, local tourism operators and external stakeholders on projects and events.
• Support the launch of the new destination brand and monitor visitor feedback.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Tourism, Marketing or a related field, or extensive experience in the visitor economy.
• Proven experience in destination marketing, content creation, website development and graphic design.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, supervise and support volunteers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of the Nambucca Valley tourism sector and existing industry networks is highly desirable.
