Territory Manager - Structural Heart

About the role

Abbott is looking for an experienced Territory Manager to support its expanding Structural Heart division in Victoria, Australia. Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Field Sales Manager (Structural Intervention), the role covers Victoria and focuses on maximising sales volume and market share of designated products. It provides clinical and sales support for Structural Intervention, including PFO occlusion therapy and congenital heart disease occluders, a complex procedure requiring a high level of clinical understanding.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers and clinical stakeholders with Structural Intervention case planning, including assessing patient suitability
• Provide clinical case coverage during the Structural Intervention procedure
• Follow up with customers and stakeholders after each case
• Collaborate with interventionalists, echo cardiologists, CV surgeons, nurse coordinators and unit managers to build awareness and referrals
• Help run customer training workshops, including echo workshops, from onboarding to continuing education
• Optimise patient screening and procedure scheduling processes
• Call on referring physicians to present the technology and clinical data
• Support local and national conferences and programs
• Achieve sales targets and increase market share, and manage consignment stock

Required profile

• At least 2 years of sales experience or medical clinical support
• Medical experience is necessary
• Experience in cardiac cath labs is advantageous; medical device sales experience is highly valued
• Proven track record in sales and clinical excellence for procedure-enabling devices that require significant clinician training
• Ability to discuss industry processes confidently with customers and experts
