Temporary Aboriginal Studies Teacher (Years 10-12)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, culturally responsive teacher to deliver Society and Culture curriculum to Aboriginal students in Years 10‑12 at the SAASTA Specialist Academy. The role focuses on strengthening cultural identity, developing leadership skills and creating pathways to further education, training or employment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Society and Culture aligned with SACE and the Australian Curriculum.
• Embed Aboriginal culture, history and perspectives across learning activities.
• Support student engagement, wellbeing and leadership development.
• Build positive relationships with students, families and community partners.
• Monitor and report on student learning progress.

Required profile

• Registration or eligibility for registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
• Respect for and understanding of Aboriginal cultures and perspectives.
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse student needs.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Willingness to consider part‑time and flexible arrangements.
