Technician – Building Management Systems (BMS)

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced BMS Service Technician for its South Australian team. The role involves servicing building management systems across defence, commercial and industrial sites, ensuring critical building systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and fault‑finding on Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Service and troubleshoot HVAC controls, lighting controls and energy management systems.
• Diagnose and repair BMS hardware, software and communication issues, including complex IP‑based control networks.
• Prepare quotations, implement system upgrades, enhancements and modifications.
• Provide technical advice and support to customers and facility managers, and maintain accurate service documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in BMS, HVAC controls, building automation or related service environments.
• Relevant qualifications in HVAC, Electrical, Controls, Automation or Building Services.
• Current driver’s licence and eligibility to obtain a Defence Security Clearance (Baseline minimum).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong customer service and communication skills.

• Networking concepts, IP communications, switches and system integration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
