Technical Advisory Officer (APS6) - Federal Government

About the role

HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting, on behalf of a Federal Government agency, an experienced APS6 Technical Advisory Officer based in Parramatta. The role provides specialist technical, operational and advisory support on complex cases within a nationally significant program, working in a specialised advisory team to guide decision-making and help build capability across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical and operational advice on complex and sensitive matters
• Deliver subject matter expertise and coaching to support consistent decision-making and quality outcomes
• Manage challenging stakeholder interactions and sensitive funding-related discussions
• Review, analyse and resolve complex issues through sound judgement and evidence-based recommendations
• Liaise with stakeholders, delegates, partners and providers to support successful outcomes
• Prepare high-quality written advice, case documentation and records
• Contribute to policy development, strategic initiatives and continuous improvement activities

Required profile

• Experience providing technical, clinical, policy or operational advice in a complex environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to manage sensitive matters
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and operational guidelines
• Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting the capability development of others
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities under limited direction
• Australian citizenship is required; pre-employment checks and security screening apply
