Tax Accountant - Public Practice (Intermediate & Senior)

About the role

QIX Consulting is partnering with established and growing accounting firms on the outskirts of Melbourne's CBD to recruit experienced Intermediate and Senior Accountants for Australian public practice. The role is permanent and full-time, with packages of $90K-$110K for intermediate accountants and $120K-$150K for senior accountants, plus bonuses. It suits accountants seeking broader client exposure, stronger advisory experience and long-term career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
• Prepare BAS, IAS and other statutory compliance requirements
• Manage and support a portfolio of business services and taxation clients
• Assist with tax planning and business advisory matters
• Liaise directly with clients and the ATO
• Identify taxation and accounting issues and provide practical solutions
• Build strong relationships with clients, managers and partners
• At senior level, review work and support junior accountants

Required profile

• Australian public practice accounting experience (essential)
• Experience at Intermediate or Senior Accountant level
• Degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
• CA/CPA qualification or being working towards it is highly regarded

• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting requirements
• Strong client communication and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational capability
