Tax Accountant – APAC & EMEA (Hybrid, Sydney)

About the role

Are you working in tax but ready for a role with more variety, autonomy and international exposure? We’re looking for a Tax Accountant – APAC & EMEA to join Sims Limited in Sydney. This role goes beyond simple compliance, offering a mix of tax reporting, research and project work across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Support tax compliance and reporting for APAC jurisdictions such as Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India and Singapore.
• Investigate tax requirements of new countries or markets and compare compliance across jurisdictions.
• Research complex cross‑border tax issues, analyse data and recommend practical solutions.
• Assist with corporate tax, GST/VAT, withholding tax and transfer pricing projects.
• Contribute to international tax and business‑change projects, including ERP reporting improvements.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of tax experience with exposure to APAC jurisdictions.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or a related field; professional qualification preferred or in progress.
• Curious, analytical and able to work independently to gather and interpret information.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP).
• Power Query for data transformation.
