Sustainability Steward (Waste Separation)

About the role

Howard Smith Wharves is looking for casual Sustainability Stewards to join its Sustainability team in Brisbane. The role involves separating waste streams by hand, so it suits someone who wants a fresh start in their career and is prepared to get hands dirty. You will receive training from one of the leading sustainability teams in the Australian hospitality industry and use it to make sure all waste is diverted from landfill correctly.

Key responsibilities

• Separate waste streams by hand
• Keep records
• Use the baling machine to crush cardboard and tins
• Process food waste for the Goterra machine
• Keep areas and equipment clean

Required profile

• No experience necessary
• Knowledge of kitchen operations is an advantage
• Ability to lift heavy loads
• Willingness to work morning and evening shifts
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
