Surveillance Program Manager - Banking and Financial Services

About the role

Macquarie is hiring a Surveillance Program Manager for its Banking and Financial Services Privacy and Risk Culture Governance team in Sydney. The role oversees the communications surveillance monitoring program and works with colleagues from the Risk Management Group.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the communications surveillance monitoring program for Banking and Financial Services
• Triage and investigate alerts on potential data loss events, compliance breaches and security concerns, evaluating cases across privacy, conduct and operational risk
• Deliver ongoing governance of the surveillance program and operational efficiency improvements
• Implement new policies and systems with colleagues from the Risk Management Group
• Work with stakeholders across personal banking, business banking and wealth management products to manage risks effectively

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Finance, Commerce or a similar discipline
• 3+ years of experience in Risk, Compliance or Surveillance-focused roles
• Strong understanding of data loss prevention and the risk frameworks for retail financial services
• Proven communication skills and ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
• Curious, critical and independent thinker who can take responsibility for complex tasks

• Analytical skills: assessing information, identifying trends, managing and strengthening internal controls and recommending practical solutions
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced, output-focused environment
