Substation Electrician – High Voltage Projects

About the role

ACCIONA, together with its partners, is building a new renewable‑energy transmission network in Central‑West Orana. We are looking for experienced Substation Electricians to join the Energy Hubs and Substations team, working on 330kV and 500kV high‑voltage substations.

Key responsibilities

• Install and terminate high‑voltage and low‑voltage power and control cabling.
• Install primary plant such as transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, current transformers (CTs), voltage transformers (VTs), surge arresters and related substation equipment.
• Install secondary systems including protection panels, marshalling kiosks, control wiring and communications equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules and single‑line diagrams.
• Perform cable glanding, termination, testing and pre‑commissioning activities in line with project specifications.
• Assist with electrical testing and commissioning tasks.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Substation Electrician on high‑voltage projects (330kV/500kV).
• Relevant electrical qualifications and certifications for high‑voltage work.
• Ability to work on a 14‑days‑on / 7‑days‑off roster and travel to site as required.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to work in a team‑oriented, construction environment.
