Structural Engineer

About the role

The Structural Engineer will work closely with clients, architects and construction professionals to develop compliant structural designs. The role involves creating technical drawings, conducting site inspections and ensuring all solutions meet Australian Standards and building regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with clients and construction teams to understand project briefs and specifications.
• Produce two‑ and three‑dimensional technical drawings using AutoCAD and other design tools.
• Review designs with the engineering team and ensure compliance with building regulations and Australian Standards.
• Identify potential design issues and communicate them to the team.
• Conduct on‑site inspections and support customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Structural Engineer (not a recent graduate).
• Registered in Tasmania (CBOS) or close to registration, and/or registered with Engineers Australia.
• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil/Structural.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle, able to travel statewide for site inspections.

Required skills

• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of BricsCAD (desirable).
• Knowledge of Space Gass (desirable).
