Strategy Manager

About the role

TAL, a life insurer backed by Daiichi Life, is looking for a Strategy Manager in Sydney. You will join a high-performing Strategy team and help define and deliver the strategic priorities behind the company's growth, working with executives and senior stakeholders to identify opportunities, manage strategic risks and lead initiatives that strengthen its competitive position.

Key responsibilities

• Co-develop and refine the corporate strategy, keeping it aligned with TAL's long-term goals and market dynamics
• Develop comprehensive strategic plans aligned with TAL's vision and strategy
• Play a key role in the annual strategic planning process, including strategy offsites for the Executive team and the Board
• Conduct market analysis, competitor benchmarking and industry trend assessment to support strategy development and implementation
• Build and own complex models to support strategic projects and extract insights from large data sets
• Collaborate with executives, senior leaders, business managers and external partners on strategy topics

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in business, commerce, engineering or a related field, including an MBA
• Strong consulting skillset with 3+ years of experience in strategy consulting or corporate strategy roles in financial services
• Experience in life insurance, superannuation, financial services and tech domains is highly regarded

Required skills

• Excellent written communication and presentation skills, able to distil complex data into key messages for senior audiences, including experience developing strategy materials for Boards
• Strong analytical and Excel skills, able to turn complex data into actionable insights
