Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist – Emergency Medicine

About the role

Lead, teach and deliver exceptional emergency care as a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist in the Logan Emergency Department. You will provide high‑quality specialist clinical care while offering clinical leadership and supervision to junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Registrars, Principal House Officers and Resident Medical Officers.
• Contribute to patient flow, clinical handover, transfers and multidisciplinary care.
• Participate in education, research, clinical audits and service improvement initiatives.
• Take part in the Emergency Department on‑call roster and clinical meetings.

Required profile

• Fellowship of the Australian College for Emergency Medicine, or equivalent.
• Specialist registration, or eligibility for registration, with AHPRA.
• Strong specialist knowledge, sound clinical decision‑making and demonstrated leadership in clinical and service improvement.
• Commitment to patient safety, human factors and evidence‑based practice.

Required skills

• Highly developed communication, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills.
