Staff Specialist – General Medicine & Geriatric Medicine

About the role

This full‑time Staff Specialist position combines General Medicine and Geriatric Medicine in a regional hospital on the Sapphire Coast of New South Wales. It is ideal for a dual‑trained physician seeking a balanced clinical workload and a high quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute inpatient General Medicine services (0.5 FTE).
• Conduct comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and Management (0.5 FTE).
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning for complex, frail older patients.
• Teach, supervise and mentor junior doctors and trainees.
• Engage in clinical governance, quality improvement and service development activities.

Required profile

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in General Medicine.
• FRACP in Geriatric Medicine.
• Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility for registration.
