Specialised Dementia Advisor

About the role

HammondCare Cardiff is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its purpose‑built dementia‑specific residential care home. You will use your clinical expertise to support a dedicated team and enhance the quality of life for older residents living with dementia.

Key responsibilities

• Provide part‑time clinical leadership, mentoring and support to a team of specialised dementia carers.
• Partner with fellow clinical leaders to ensure high‑quality resident care and positive team outcomes.
• Conduct clinical assessments and contribute to care planning for changing resident needs.
• Support clinical decision‑making and provide professional nursing oversight.
• Implement comfort‑focused care approaches and champion best‑practice dementia care.

Required profile

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• 2–3 years’ experience in an aged‑care environment, preferably with dementia patients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team while showing initiative and independence.
• Patience, empathy and a commitment to person‑centred care.
