Solicitor – Insurance Litigation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our Brisbane team on a permanent full‑time basis. You will work within a dynamic, collaborative environment, handling a variety of defendant insurance matters for reputable clients while receiving mentorship from two Principals and support from the wider firm.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of defendant insurance cases, including personal injury, property damage, public liability, product liability and recovery claims.
• Provide timely, commercially focused advice, maintain direct client relationships, and prepare pleadings, court documents and legal advice.
• Negotiate settlements, represent clients at mediations, conferences and court appearances, and oversee matters through all litigation stages.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support the development of junior lawyers and support staff.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years post‑admission experience, ideally with exposure to defendant insurance, personal injury or general commercial litigation.
• Strong understanding of personal injury claims (especially under PIPA), general liability claims, court procedures and pleadings.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a keen eye for detail and strong time‑management skills.
