Site Engineer – Western Harbour Tunnel Project

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join the Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2 project in Sydney. You will contribute to the delivery of a major underground infrastructure programme, ensuring safety, quality and sustainability standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage safety, construction and quality documentation such as SWMS, ITPs, procedures and permits.
• Administer contract works, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Manage permits and approvals and align daily site activities with design specifications.
• Support planning, execution and handover of project deliverables within time, cost and quality targets.
• Assist with procurement, purchase orders and material traceability.
• Track costs, monitor productivity and produce accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Contribute to look‑ahead planning, scheduling and coordination with supervisors and project teams.
• Undertake audits, maintain registers and ensure Quality Management System compliance.
• Record and report daily progress, delays, variations and subcontractor activities.
• Participate in inductions, pre‑start meetings and promote company policies and code of conduct.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a similar site engineering role.
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience in excavation or underground construction projects.
• Experience on major Sydney road or tunnel infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety standards and quality management systems.
• Ability to manage costs, productivity measures and reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills with clients, supervisors and project teams.
• Commitment to workplace health, safety and sustainability principles.
