SHE Manager – Food & Liquor (Western Australia)

About the role

The SHE Manager for Western Australia will lead the Safety, Health & Environment function across Metcash's Food & Liquor sites. Based in Canning Vale, you will shape a proactive SHE culture, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement in distribution centres, warehouses, offices, processing operations and retail stores.

Key responsibilities

• Guide WA Food & Liquor site leaders in implementing SHE strategies and improvement plans.
• Embed and maintain SHE Management System documentation across multiple sites.
• Conduct SHE compliance audits and support risk assessments.
• Oversee incident management, investigations and lessons‑learned sharing.
• Support emergency response planning and SHE due diligence for acquisitions.
• Build strong relationships with leadership teams to influence SHE performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in a SHE support role, preferably in logistics, warehouse or retail environments.
• Tertiary qualification in SHE or a related discipline (legal/science).
• Strong knowledge of Australian SHE legislation.
• Proven ability to develop safety leadership and capability across line management.
• Willingness to travel within regional WA and occasional interstate.

Required skills

• ICAM investigation training or certification.
